Runningal Event Management

Redesigned to a modern, responsive website.

For this project, I was tasked with redesigning the ol' table-based style of the website to a new, simple, easy-to-use product that followed the workflow of my target audience. I concepted a new design, prototyped it, and developed it.

Redesigned to a modern, responsive website.

For this project, I was tasked with redesigning the ol' table-based style of the website to a new, simple, easy-to-use product that followed the workflow of my target audience. I concepted a new design, prototyped it, and developed it.

Role: Design and Development

Sketching and Layout Design

I made sure the structure was simple by sticking to easy conventions our target consumers knew well; showcase slideshow, learn more buttons, add-to-cart buttons. The key was to take the structure and fit it proportionately to a Z-layout with a slight mix-in from a mobile-first perspective.

Styling and Web Design

I used the crimson that matched with her logo and her images to pop out the important aspects and features of the site, especially the navigation. I placed a fixed Contact button on the right side to have it visible at all times for the user. I also included a Home in the main navigation instead of just as the logo because 1.) many of our users are either of an older generation or are used to seeing a Home button and 2.) It can be an "escape path" for our users.

UI Design and Development

I incorporated some interactive UI elements for users to both enhance their visit and create an easier workflow for them. The contact button fades out of view once the user scrolls the page, creating noticability and letting them focus on the content. On the Events page, the races are separated by tabs so the user can focus on the one race they wish to.
